Worship, The Rosary

The Rosary is a traditional Christian meditative prayer that has been used for centuries and continues to be used in the Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches as well as by Anglican Catholics today.

Although the Rosary is often prayed at home, we also come together to pray it in church. At Old St. Martin in the Cornmarket, we usually say Rosary together on the fourth Saturday of the month at 11.30am.

The Rosary is based around repetitive praying of the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory be. The video to the right goes into some detail about this and about the Mysteries which are contemplated whilst praying.

The video was developed by a friend of Father Ian's who is himself a priest in the south of England. He produced it to enable young people to find out more about the Rosary.
