Father
William Beattie
Monahan
1867-1948
Rector of Saint Swithun's
with
Old Saint Martin's
WORCESTER
1902-1948
The Ministry of Father Monahan, which spanned almost the entire first half
of the twentieth century, had a profound effect on worship at Old Saint
Martin's. Indeed his influence is still felt today.
In this section of the site we make available a number of items from the Monahan
archive. This had been passed down Father Monahan's family through his
daughter Bridget who worshipped at Old Saint Martin's until 2008 when,
aged 99, she moved to Malvern. The archive is now in the possession of
Father Monahan's Granddaughter Sheila who has kindly agreed to allow us
to make it available here.
You can access individual items in the collection either fom the menu
at the top left of this page or from the dark blue bold text links in the descriptions below
(these turn red when you pass your mouse pointer over the text.) Titles not in bold are documents which we intend
to add at a later date.
