Father Monahan Archive, Altar Card |
| This beautiful Altar Card was in use at Old Saint Martin's during the first
half of the 20th Century, when William Beattie Monahan was Rector. The card
shows the altar prayers in use at that time. The Priest read each prayer
from the card at the relevant time in the Mass. The calligraphy and illumination
is by George Byrne Phillips who was a member of the congregation at the
time. The Altar Card is now owned Father Monahan's granddaughter Sheila who
has kindly allowed us to feature it on the site. |
