'Noughties' party - August 2009
2009 has been a significant year for quite a number of the congregation of Old Saint Martin's, with five of us reaching a 'nought' birthday during the year. To celebrate we decided to have a summer garden party. Paul and Gill Westcott were kind enough to offer to host us and Pat and Lucy volunteered to provide the catering services. Sadly, on the day the intended garden party was thwarted by the
English summer. Undeterred, around 25 of us gathered inside Paul and
Gill's home for a sit down buffet. The food was, as always, excellent.
Paul made a speech of welcome. Father Ian responded on behalf of the
'noughties' and said how lovely it was to gather together to celebrate
not only the birthdays but the love and friendship that we all share.
